So I just had to post my new finds! It's amazing the unique furniture you find at garage sales and goodwill stores! I'll do a follow up post once they're refinished!

Something Old, Something New

I love to checkout Goodwill stores... You truly never know what you're going to find. I've had a lot of luck with old milk glass and cut crystal lately, but I never pass up a unique piece of furniture. This past year I came across this awesome vanity...

 

Most people would see that awesome floral print and old school design as a pass... I saw opportunity! You never know what a couple of cans I spray paint and a little fabric will do! 

Important facts for first timers -

1. If you're going to buy paint from the store and hand roll it... Buy a primer or you're going to have to sand... A lot! 

2. If you're going to spray paint... Buy a couple more cans than you think you're going to need. I started with four and needed around 8 to completely cover the entire piece. (For heavy use buy outdoor paint to save on touch ups)

3. When purchasing fabric always check the stores website for coupons. Almost everyplace I looked had an online coupon that I could use for the fabric I purchased. Also with the savings you can buy a little bit more yardage to make accent pillows!

So total cost -

      Goodwill Vanity - $20

      Refinish Supplies - $22

                                       TOTAL - $42

In comparison to buying this from any department store... You're saving hundreds for a customized and awesome  conversation piece!
